Our annual philanthropy is Derby Days, a week long event with sorority competitions which culminates with a concert. 2009's event was headlined by Ghostland Observatory along with featured performances from LMFAO & The Jakes. In addition, there was a snowboarding competition hosted by Campus Rail Jam as well as many significant sponsors such as Red Bull Energy Drink, all of which helped to raise over $50,000 for Children's Miracle Network.
For more than 30 years, Sigma Chi has been a leader in the Greek world in actively helping in charitable causes. In 1992, Sigma Chi established the Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit alliance of more than 160 children's hospitals and health care facilities throughout Canada and the U.S. These hospitals provide care for all types of afflictions and serve all types of young people regardless of the family's ability to pay. Sigma Chi annually raises more than $320,000 for CMN affiliate hospitals.
